Maria’s first introduction to the art of dance began at Andrea’s Dance Studio in New York. While attending Andrea’s Studio, she studied tap, jazz, ballet and pointe, performed in dance competitions and taught as an assistant dance teacher. While in high school, Maria was accepted to tour the country with Caravan Kids, the dance company of Hoctor’s Dance Caravan. During college, Maria studied dance at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in New York City. She obtained a B.S. in Finance from Fordham University and upon graduation, began her career in the financial services industry in New York City.
Twyla is originally from Cambridge, Massachusetts, and has studied dance and performed with some of the most elite dance companies in New England for over twenty-two years. As a child, Twyla performed all over New England with “Daragee Drum and Acon con” Professional West African Ballet. Wanting to mold her love of dance into a professional skill, Twyla received a Masters Certification of Techniques at the Blade Dance Academy and The Hip-Hop Dance Conservatory of New York.
Kelly began dancing at the age of 2 at the American Dance Experience in Hamden, CT. She danced competitively in tap, ballet, jazz and lyrical/contemporary in both local and national competitions. She was a performer, choreographer and instructor for NUDANCO and No Limits Dance Crew while attending Northeastern University in Boston, MA. Kelly was also an instructor of children’s classes at ADE and of adult classes at Newton Community Education Program. She is the co-founder of OnStage Dance Company, a performance group for adults, and currently serves as its Associate Director.
Amanda is a choreographer, dancer, and artist living in Boston, MA. Her dance training began in her hometown of Salem, New Hampshire at the Carlene Nazarian Dance School. She earned a BA in Dance Performance and US History from Keene State College. As a student at Keene State College, Amanda’s choreography was selected to be presented for adjudication at the American College Dance Festival. Also at Keene, she had the opportunity to study under artists such as Monica Bill Barnes, Frances Nii. Yarti, Candice Salyers, Cathy Nicoli, Jodi Leigh Allen, William Seigh, and Marcia Murdock.
Deja is a gymnast and hip hop dance choreographer that lives in Cambridge, MA. For her, both Dance and gymnastics started as a child through a company called Jam’nastics Inc., also in Cambridge. At the age of 7, she began to learn and master gymnastics and later teach gymnastics to children at various schools in Cambridge. Deja has competed as a gymnast and a dancer in Newton, Apollo Theatre, Strand Theatre, The Pavilion and at various other locations in the Greater Boston Area.
Angeliquc teaches gymnastics and dance in the Cambridge and Boston areas. She is originally from Cambridge and is well known in the area as Miss Gymnastics. She received her training through JAM’NASTICS Inc., a non-profit dance and gymnastics organization, whose mission was to use the arts, gymnastics and dance to build community, celebrate diversity and promote positive change.
Natasha trained in England at the Stella Mann College of Performing Arts and performed professionally throughout the UK. During her extensive dance career, she appeared in music videos, television shows, company performances, and proudly at Her Majesty’s Theatre in front of the Queen. She has been teaching dance for the past 9 years with enthusiasm and encouragement and instills fantastic technique in her students.
Malone is an urban dancer who lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He has been trained in various hip hop dance styles such as popping, breaking and choreography. Malone attended Cambridge Rindge and Latin where he joined a modern dance company. He has also trained as a dancer and a scholarship recipient at both Pulse Tour and Monsters Dance Convention & Competition.
