Although Maria had a very successful career in Finance and Litigation, dance always remained a high-priority. While living in New York City, Maria took dance classes at Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway with top master teachers and choreographers and in 2008, Maria decided to embark on a new journey. She left the corporate world, relocated to Boston and began teaching ballet, tap, and jazz. She quickly came to realize her true passion in life and knew it was time to make her childhood dream become a reality, and so in the summer of 2011, she took steps to open her own dance school and hasn’t looked back since!
Maria continues to remain abreast of current and new dance techniques by attending teacher training and certification programs offered by the Dance Teacher Club of Boston, Dance Educators of America, The Dance Teacher Summit, and The Pulse Dance Teacher Conventions & Workshops. She also helps promote continued dance education among her staff by inviting them to attend dance conventions led by some of the most renowned instructors and choreographers in the industry. Maria was a company member of OnStage Dance Company, an organization that provides performance opportunities for experienced dancers and a former Board Member of the Boston Dance Alliance, which provides services that raise the profile of dance, nurture artistic excellence, and enhance the effectiveness and vitality of its individual and institutional members.
Maria complements her love of dance with her joy of running. She has completed 19 half marathons and 5 marathons, including the Boston marathon, which remains her personal best, and the London marathon, which is where her husband proposed to her. Maria is also fluent in Italian, as she is first generation (her mother and siblings were born in Italy, and her father was raised in Italy) and she also speaks some German, having studied at the Goethe Institut in Prein Am Chiemsee, Germany.
