Summer Programs

Miss Maria’s School of Dance offers princess dance (ages 3 to 6); ballet, tap, jazz and hip hop dance (ages 6 to 9), and dance intensives (ages 9 & up) over the summer. We have also added a one week special dance workshop for experienced teen dancers only (must have a minimum of 5 years of dance training). There is something for everyone! PRINCESS DANCE: AGES 3 to 6
9:00 am to 1:00 pm (Miss Amanda will lead Monday to Thursday; Miss Maria will lead Fridays)
Week 1: June 25 to June 29
Week 2: July 9 to July 13
Week 3: July 16 to July 20
Week 4: July 23 to July 27
$50 per day / $250 for the entire week

Each day will bring a new adventure of dance, focused on a different princess. Dance classes will be in ballet and tap and will include fun follow-along activities, dance games and an arts and crafts project focused on a princess ballerina. Children may wear dance attire (which we sell at our studio for ease and convenience) or comfortable clothing such as shorts/tee-shirts or tank tops, or can wear their favorite princess dresses. Please pack a snack, lunch and drink for your child. We only accept 12 princess ballerinas per day. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your child’s spot upon registration (whether online or in-studio). The remaining balance will be due June 15. All payments are final. A welcome package that will include our waiver and request for information including any food allergies, will be sent to you on June 15 and must be signed and presented to our staff on the first day of your child’s summer dance class.

SUMMER DANCE BLAST: AGES 6 to 9
Mornings: 9:00 am to 1:00 pm – includes Ballet/Tap/Jazz Dance (Weeks 1 to 4, pack a lunch too);
Afternoons 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm – includes Hip Hop & Acrobatic Dance (Weeks 1, 2 & 4) and Modern & Contemporary (Week 3)

Week 1: June 25 to June 29 (with Miss Maria on Mon, Tues, Wed mornings; Miss Natasha on Thurs mornings and Miss Brenna on Fri mornings; Miss Twyla every afternoon)

Week 2: July 9 to July 13 (same faculty as week 1)

Week 3: July 16 to July 20 (with Miss Brenna all mornings; Miss Amanda every afternoon except Thursday which will be with Miss Natasha)

Week 4: July 23 to July 27 (with Miss Kelly all mornings; Miss Twyla every afternoon)

Our Summer Dance Program for ages 6 to 9 includes classes in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, acro contemporary & modern and provides a great variation of styles that will have every child fully engaged and wanting to learn more. Dance classes are interspersed with fun arts & craft projects that allow the dancer to build props that will be used in their learned routines. Dance attire is recommended but not required. However, children should wear comfortable clothing that they could easily dance and stretch in. Children may dance barefoot in lieu of wearing dance shoes; but if they have ballet, tap, jazz and/or hip hop dance sneakers/shoes, they should bring them to class. We also sell dance attire and ballet, tap and jazz shoes at our studio.

Dancers should pack snacks, lunch (if staying for the morning or full day), and a drink. Afternoon only session dancers should arrive after having already eaten lunch at home. A dancer’s dream with classes in Lyrical, Contemporary, Modern, Musical Theater, Hip Hop and Acrobatic dance. Our dance intensives are perfect for the more serious dancer looking to strengthen their technique, build flexibility, increase balance, and learn new & challenging dance steps, all while having a great time and creating new friendships. Sessions will include small group & individual choreography, improvisation, partnering work, and tutorials about the legends and founders of dance. Students must wear appropriate dance attire and shoes (can dance barefoot) and hair should be properly pulled back up and away from face. No excessive jewelry is to be worn. Dancers should pack snacks, lunch (for morning and full-day) and a drink. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required at registration and the remaining balance will be due June 15. All payments are final. A welcome package that will include our waiver and request for student information will be sent to you on June 15 and must be signed and presented to our staff on the first day of your child’s summer dance class.

SPECIAL TEEN WORKSHOP: AGES 13 & UP – EXPERIENCED DANCERS ONLY!
Based on demand, we added one week of a specialty ballet, lyrical, contemporary and modern workshop for experienced dancers only (must have at least 5 years of dance training).

July 23 to July 27  With Miss Brenna from 9 am to 1 pm & Miss Amanda from 1 pm to 3:30 pm – $450 for the week

Pricing

  • 50% Payment is due at registration and is non-refundable.
  • Remaining balance is due on June 15 and is non-refundable.
  • Sessions are limited to 12 students.

If you subsequently cancel your child’s registration for any reason, including but not limited to changes in your vacation plans, moving, injury, and/or illness, a 50% refund of your total payment will be made ONLY if we are notified of the cancelation in writing to missmariadance@gmail.com prior to June 15. Refunds will not be made after June 15 for any reason whatsoever.

Dance attire is required for dance intensives (leotards & tights and may be worn with dance shorts or leggings). Dancers may wear their dance shoes, dance barefoot or wear foot undeez (which we sell).
